| C07A - Beta Blocking Agents | All plain beta blocking agents are classified in this group. Combination packages containing two different products (e.g. sotalol tablets and aspirin tablets in a combination package) are also classified in this group. Labetalol, and carvedilol are classified in C07AG - Alpha- and beta blocking agents.
| The DDDs are based on the treatment of mild-moderate hypertension. The DDDs for oral and parenteral formulations are equal, even if the parenteral preparations are used for the initial treatment of arrhythmias. Exception: practolol.

| C07AB - Beta Blocking Agents, Selective | All plain selective beta blocking agents are classified in this group. The s-enantiomer and the racemate of atenolol are classified at separate 5th levels.
| Different DDDs have been assigned for the two stereoisomeric forms of atenolol due to different potency.
