• -Patienten mit schwacher oder mittelmässiger Hypertension: 1-mal täglich morgens Metoprolol Axapharm retard 50.
• -Bei Patienten, welche auf die Dosierung Metoprolol Axapharm retard 50 nicht ansprechen, kann 1-mal täglich Metoprolol Axapharm retard 100 bzw. Metoprolol Axapharm retard 200 verabreicht werden. Wenn nötig kann ein weiteres Antihypertonikum mitverordnet werden.
• +Patienten mit schwacher oder mittelmässiger Hypertension: 1-mal täglich morgens Metoprolol Axapharm retard 50 mg.
• +Bei Patienten, welche auf die Dosierung Metoprolol Axapharm retard 50 mg nicht ansprechen, kann 1-mal täglich Metoprolol Axapharm retard 100 mg bzw. Metoprolol Axapharm retard 200 mg verabreicht werden. Wenn nötig kann ein weiteres Antihypertonikum mitverordnet werden.
• -1-mal täglich Metoprolol Axapharm retard 100 oder Metoprolol Axapharm retard 200.

• +Patienten mit der seltenen hereditären Fructose/Galactose-Intoleranz, einer Glucose-Galactose-Malabsorption oder einer Sucrase-Isomaltase-Insuffizienz sollten dieses Arzneimittel nicht anwenden

• -Die Plasmaspiegel von Metoprolol können erhöht werden durch die gleichzeitige Verabreichung von Substanzen, die durch CYP2D6 metabolisiert werden, z.B. Antiarrhythmika (z.B. Amiodaron, Chinidin), Antihistaminika (z.B. Diphenhydramin), H2-Rezeptor-Antagonisten (z.B. Cimetidin), Antidepressiva (z.B. Clomipramin, selektive Serotonin-Wiederaufnahmehemmer [SSRIs]), Antipsychotika (z.B. Haloperidol) und COX-2-Hemmer (z.B. Celecoxib) und Ritonavir. Die blutdrucksenkende Wirkung von Metoprolol Axapharm retard kann dadurch verstärkt werden.
